Heres the situation: My dress is ivory and oyster . hen i went dress shopping with FMIL I said no ivory dresses since she chose one at DB that was mor elike a wedding dress than anything. Well mom and I went shopping yesterday and the only dress we both liked was Ivory with gold beading ..both on the dress and the jacket. My mom is plus sized so its hard to find dresses that are flattering..shes a sexy woman and we wanted to show that.
So my mom is concerned that FMIL will be upset....I called to say she could buy ivory as long as it had a differnt color and it was not a long gown. Well FBIL said she bought one in light gold..I still havent spoken to her..
Am I wrong to let my mom buy the ivory dress? even if it is trimmed in alot of gold beading to offset the ivory.?

Re: Does it Matter at all?
hmmmmm.... i might explain the situation with you FMIL and if feelings are hurt then i wouldn't go back on your word but then again it is your day and that is YOUR MOTHER so use your discretion hope that helps

I, PERSONALLY, don't think that it matters. BUT, I think that your FMIL may get upset

I personally would not mind but I think no one should be wearing either Ivory Or White to your wedding. They should let you wear those realms of colors only to you so that you are unique as it is your day. I think your FMIL might get upset.

yeah..I just decided that it shall stay the way it is. We spent 6 hours dress shopping ysterday and thats what we found. She's a size 16 and hippy so its really hard plus I have 5 weeks left so I refuse to stress.
I forgot to mention that I spent almost the same amount of time shopping with FMIL and we chose a great dress but she returned it..she said she didnt like it..then why buy it in the 1st place right?
So basically I coulda bitched about that but I let it go so she better let it go too.

No, I don't think it matters. Frankly I'm surprised that you are telling the mothers what to wear. No wonder your FMIL returned her dress. You're right, you shouldn't stress about it.
