Does it matter if your cake topper is a different 'theme'

than other stuff in your wedding? Does everything have to 'GO' together? my family thinks IT DOES
HELP !!

I have a Cinderella Cake topper and I am doing purple as my flowers and BM dresses...

Does my invitation have to match any of it?

I am so confused with 'themes'

ETA: Im not to sure if invites are suppose to match your wedding theme...but mine do..honestly, I dont think guest will remember if the invites matched or not anyway..so dont stress it

Yes..it really is. We put so much effort into wedding planning that sometimes we stress the smallest of things..things that people wouldnt think twice about...ugh..the horrors of wedding planning

We have a whole fall theme, with the oranges and wines, and leaves on stuff, and then...we have a mickey and minnie cake topper We are going to Disney for our HM, and we love Disney....it's the one FH wanted.....So..I say do whatever you want!

If any bride is gonna be talked about it will be me...let's see, the unmatching cake topper, white tuxes in October, sisters walking me down the aisle...but I don't care

It's fine! Brides get so involved with this stuff. It's not as if there are Wedding Police who are going to come after you if all your colors aren't in synch and your theme isn't all matching. It's just a guideline, you know. Choosing a theme or color scheme helps you from having stuff clash or look odd together, but it doesn't mean you can't deviate at all. It's your wedding! Do what you want. Even if it IS all clashing colors, if it's what you want, go for it!

Besides, it all sounds pretty to me.

its totally all up to you, your taste, the degree which you like things to be matchy matchy! I just know Im obsessive over things having to mesh well so Im constantly reassessing..'does this go with that okay?' all the time. i like things to match, colors to blend, etc.

I think your cake topper sounds lovely and would be beautiful with all of your other details. Go for it! It's your wedding!!

honestly i think you can do whatever you want....i'm sure none of your guests will even notice a theme...unless they are also future or recent brides.

For us eevrything will more or less match just because its easier that way planning wise and maybe the theme will be more noticable....so EVERYTHNG is some form of aqua/turquoise, white, and pink accents.
