you do not have a large crowd when you exchange vows?
As I stated in my previous topic, I do not care if FH and I get married to empty seats. As long as parents and close family are there- that is all that matters to me.

We felt the same way. To be honest, while you are exchanging your vows, you don't notice anyone else anyway, it is just you and him.

I'm with you on this one. As long as my immediate family is there, I'm happy. Plus I have a huge BP, my Church will be full even if no one shows up on time

I would prefer a big crowd, since I think the ceremony is the most important part of the wedding, but only certian people have to be there. For those people I would wait for them to get there, ie grandparents, parents, siblings and close friends. Let's hope they care enough to get their on time.

Honestly having the people you love around you is more important than the number of people you have around you. It is the old 'Quality vs. Quanity' arguement. Some people only invite a few people to their ceremony, while others want every co-worker/ neighbor and man off the street there. Do what is special for you.

On my wedding day I was so anxious just to see my husband I think I would only have waited for immediate family.

I think FH would be much more at ease with a few people rather than a lot. As long as our families are there we'll be fine

That's all that matters to me too! I don't need 10,000 people there watching me. I'm happy with our close friends & family...

It shouldn't matter. The most impt. thing is you are marrying the love of your life.

I'd actually prefer it being a small crowd of just family. The only drawback of having our ceremony at the hall is that we are pretty much guaranteed a huge crowd. It's getting me nervous!

I don't need any kind of audience to get married. All I need is my FH, the Pastor and the most important person that day, God.

Re: Does it matter to you if...
It doesn't matter who is there but since my FH and I grew up together in the same neighborhood and are getting married in our church there, I'm sure there will be a big crowd at the church. Not all are invited to the reception but all of those old ladies that knew us since we were born live for this stuff.

Re: Does it matter to you if...
I really never thought about this before, but I hope that everyone is there for the ceremony, esspecially the guests from my list(opposed to my mothers or FMIL list). I am not having a huge wedding & all the people that I personally want to invite are very important to me & I want them to be part of the ceremony as well.

good to hear all of the viewpoints.
I posted this because as you people do not make the ceremony on time or at all. I know some brides who would not start the ceremony if there wasn't a full crowd.

It didn't matter to me, and almost all of my guest were there. I didn't notice how many people were there until I saw the video

Re: Does it matter to you if...
From what I have heard you don't see anyone or anything except for your FH. Its like if everything comes down around you, you won't even notice. I see that being me.
my sister got married at 3pm on an friday in terrential rain...she thought 60/180 people would show up for the ceremony...
it turned out that almost everyone was able to make it!! (one guest even got into an accisent...drove to the church afterwards - after the ceremony went to the rental company - and then to the reception!! ) people will surprise you

Re: Does it matter to you if...
It has come to my realization, that to some guest thinks that the ceremony is not important to attend...which I think is totally wrong, w/o the ceremony there is no reception. With that being said I have seen brides sit in cars waiting for the church to fill up which I think is totally disrespectful to the guest that are there on time.
When I got to the church, my Day of coordinator told me that the church was not filled, and if I wanted to wait for more people to arrive? mind you Roger and the Pastor was at the alter waiting, all my family and Roger's family and parents were already seated. My mom was walking me down the aisle. So I said to her, all the important people are here, let's get this show started. Seriously, how long would I have waited, if a 'full church' was important to me???
When you walk in and you see your Fi all the darn joy you are feeling you don't even remember a darn thing. From watching our video that is how I remembered who attended our ceremony. Do not let b/c of waiting for a full church make you late for everything else. Once you start late, everything else runs behind schedule, you might miss taking photos or they might be rushed and you will be frazzled. I say as long as your loved ones are there you are good to go.
