you do not have a large crowd when you exchange vows?
As I stated in my previous topic, I do not care if FH and I get married to empty seats. As long as parents and close family are there- that is all that matters to me.

Re: Does it matter to you if...
I think it is INCREDIBLY rude for guests to skip a ceremony. If they make time to enjoy the food and drinks and entertainment at the reception, they can certainly inconvienence themselves to share in the MOST important part of the wedding - the ceremony.
In my case, I made every accomadation possible (no gap between ceremony, ceremony/reception locations close by, short but sweet duration, etc..) short of carrying each guest on my back to my ceremony so there were no excuses not to be there.
However, in NY it seems that many people think its fine to skip the ceremony. I was quite worried about showing up to an empty church. I was SO relieved when my MOH ran up to me before the processional started and told me 'the church is packed!' Expecting many people to skip it and learning everyone was there made me sooo happy! Its an already an emotional time so that added even more joy to the situation.
Walking down the aisle is completely surreal. Of course the man at the end of the aisle is what I really cared about but seeing all the people that we have spent our lives with leading up to this moment smiling and waving and taking photos...it was really special.
Sorry to run on...i guess i wanted to explain myself. Being a newlywed I can say that YES, it did matter.

I would like it if there were a crowd although it wouldn't make the moment any less important to me. I just don't like that so many people don't bother to show up for the marriage ceremony anymore, it's sort of sad that they seem to be more interested in the reception.
