We have had a million kids already... I can say about 10% of them actually say 'trick or treat'
I open the door and they stand there with open bags. Maybe im getting old :) Next time im tempted to say.. Why are you here??
One kid told me not to put the candy in his bag, to hand it to him bc he wanted to know what he got first. RUDE!

OMG...I was JUST saying that. I've had maybe 2 kids say Trick or Treat so far. I'm starting to get mad!!!

we've probably had only bout 20-30 kids so far and ZEROOOO of them have said trick or treat. One kid shoved his hand in my bowl and scooped out a handful after my sister already gave him 3 pieces of candy and said he needed more for his baby brother. oh really? bc i can see your baby brother on my lawn in a stroller and baby bro doesnt look like he has any TEETH to eat that handful of candy you just took lol

We've had about 10 and only 1 or 2 said trick or treat! They're probably making a killing today though and trying to get in as many houses as they can. A whole Sunday to get candy!

The kids by me have been pretty good so far......except for one boy who yelled 'I want candy' as soon as I opened the door. His mom was standing right there too and said nothing. I felt like saying 'Teach your kid some damn manners'

It's seriously so annoying! I had work at the deli this morning and the kids started coming in at around 12... I refused to give them candy unless they said 'Trick or Treat'... it's a big peeve of mine

so rude!! I know and I was handing the candy out and the kids were taking it out of the bowl as I was too! The mother was right there with them and didn't say a word...WTH!!!
*needless to say I'm keeping the bowl inside and taking it from there!

LOL. I think a couple of them did. We don't get too many. I just hold the bowl for them and let them take. We left some candy in a bag when we went out earlier, and of course some kids stole it. I think it was the kids that were down the block when we got home, because they saw us come home, and didn't bother to ring the bell. Totally guilty!!

We had a kid tell us he didn't want the pretzels only kit kats. I was like sorry don't have any. Then he proceeded to ask my dad the score of the jets game, since he heard the tv! haha
Then a little girl was like ' Why is everyone giving out pretzels today?' haha My mom didn't buy any candy because she doesn't want it in the house since she is on WW for my wedding.
We've only had like 10 kids today! I only heard 'trick or treat' once!

Hahahaha I was just thinking this. We got like 15 kids and only the very young ones said it. The bigger ones just shoved their open bags at me. One girl even had her book bag instead of a regular bag. I sure hope we get more kids b/c I really don't want to have any left over candy in the house

one I blame the parents we were taught to say trick or treat when the door opened, not to reach into the candy bowl and say thank you after we got the candy
two even when I was a teenager trick or treating we dressed up and STILL said trick or treat and thank you
three thank god my mom didnt get any candy not one kid has knocked on the door this year.

I am so depressed. I always look forward to Halloween, but since moving to LI, I get hardly anyone. Last yr we had 3 kids, then at night I had a group of teens, well I dumped all the candy in the last kid's bag. Needless to say he was very happy. This yr we had 3 kids. FH took the chocolates for himself.
