of a bridal shower call the guest if she does not get a RSVP call; to find out her final count???? is this OK to do, not rude?

Re: Does the host.....
that sounds perfectly reasonable to me, if it is say a week or a few days before the party and they have not heard from the people, so put in a polite call and just say 'Hi there, we never heard from you, I just wanted to know if you were coming or not.'
Sometimes it's even a good idea, because invitations can get lost in the mail and such.

Re: Does the host.....
I dont think it would be rude, but I would think it just means a no response
Because showers are less formal people might not feel like they need to RSVP unless they were going.

Re: Does the host.....
I've done it before and I didn't think it was rude. I think not responding to an invitation beyond the RSVP date is rude.

Calling before the RSVP is different IMO. I wouldn't go so far as to say rude but maybe a little pushy...but after the RSVP she has every right to call.

I say she should wait until after the RSVP if she needed the count sooner she should have put an earlier date.

She called some of the guest before the RSVP date; I yelled at her and she stopped. But she also wants to call after RSVP date.

Re: Does the host.....
I wish my MOH had called. I have a few friends that never RSVP'd and they seemed surprised that my shower was this past Saturday. My MOH is suggesting that they may not want to feel obligated to send a gift so I'm not mentioning it to them.
We'll never know!!! She should def. call after the RSVP date.

Re: Does the host.....
Definitely not rude for the host to call. WHat is rude is that people do not RSVP. What do they think the date is for???? Sorry but this is such a sore subject with me. Why can't people just respond when they get it? It is so much easier for everyone involved!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with calling after the date.

Re: Does the host.....
It's alright to make a phone call to make sure that people are going to attend. Alot of people RSVP'd for our engagement party but we didn't get them until afterwards due to delays with the post office; Some people just forget to send them back, including me.

I don't not think it is rude to call guests that have not RSVP'ed after the RSVP date. Actually I think it is rude of the people that did not RSVP.
