Does the looks of your Bridesmaids really Matter?

I stumbled across this article and was taken aback as one of my friends who got married two years ago, was just as vain. She picked her bridesmaids based on looks and not based on friendship or the relationship she had with the person. Like mentioned in the article, she informed me how she wanted her pics to look good and couldn't afford to have an 'ugly' bridesmaid ruin her pics.

I'm amazed how superficial some people are.

OMG that is ridiculous! My friendship with friend 'A' would have ended the moment those words left her mouth! I wouldnt want a friend like that in my life. What a mean/rude/hurtful/idiotic thing to say!

I genuinely think that my bridesmaids are some of the most beautiful girls I've ever met. How could you look at one of your friends or family and think of them as ugly?
