Does the outside color on the invites, have ot match the inside?

If I am doing a lettering on the actual invitation itself, in a different color, do I have to do the outter envelope(mailing envelope and return env.) in the same color? Can I just use black? I like the look of a different color, but I don't want it on the envelope as well.

I know its my invitation and I can do what I want, but I just wanted to know if maybe it would look funny if I do 2 different colors. I like the black on the envelope, and my color theme on the invitation.

i think black on the outside is perfectly fine....then they open it and have a total surprise!

Black is fine. Also, all I can say is don't stress about stuff like this! No one will notice stuff like that. Enjoy your planning.

Black is perfectly fine for the outer envelope, no one is even going to notice what color it is.

Ty guys, I know no one will really care. I just don't want it to look tacky lol

I am printing them myself, so I obviously don't really care too much about how they look. People will throw them away anyway after they know all the info. :)

Mine didn't match (and NOT on purpose). The printer failed to inform me that the color would be a different shade on the outside than on the inside. In the end, no one noticed (or cared).

There are no rules when it comes to your wedding so you should do whatever you think looks good!!
