Ok, so a friend of FH and mine is getting married around the same time as us, and her shower is coming up. She really went above and beyond on my shower gift, and I wanted to get her something as wonderful in return.
Heres the thing. I went yesterday with FH and her damn registry is basically all bought!!!! W-T-FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF the invites just went out!!!
So Fh said that we should buy her some of the waterford crystal off her registry. And we did. I purchased her requested 2 sets of Sherry crystal glasses.
The thing is, I don't want her to feel like we went the easy way out on her gift. I mean, I really wanted to give her something special like she did for me, and unfortunately, all of her shower guest had the same thought.
Do i look bad giving her 2 boxes of crystal? I mean, it was expensive, but I feel bad b/c it wasn't has special as what she got me...
What do you think, am I over reacting?

do you have time to order something personalized online? my friend got us this really nice personalized photo fram that had our names and vows. it really touched me.

I dont think your slacking. If things are gone they're gone. Maybe something personalized would be nice though.

maybe you can get her the crystal and make a cute little 'emergency kit' for the day of. that way, you can personalize something but not for a lot of additional $$.

I don't think you're over reacting at all, but you're not a slacker! So, I got this really great personalized wedding album with our wedding date and our names. Absolutely beautiful and of my 1000 gifts, this was my favorite. The point is, something from the heart and it may not be on the registry..

I REALLY like this idea! I SO appreciated little cute out of the box things that people did, it shows you put in thought . . . Not to mention, this is a really practical idea! I was going to suggest something along this line, like maybe a photo album specifically for honeymoon photos, but I like the idea above better!

Lillian Vernon has a great photo album you can personalize. Maybe you can work on getting pictures from other guests after the wedding and print them out and put them in the album. Give it to her after the honeymoon. It'll be nice b/c she'll want to see pictures and have to wait to get them back from the photographer.
