Please let me know if I'm being unreasonable. I have 11 people who need their hair done for my wedding. My hair stylist said that she will bring an assistant but it is an extra $100? If my girls are paying for their hair to be done anyway I don't understand what I'm paying an extra $100 for? Can someone please explain this to me if they understand because I don't get it.

So shes charging an extra 100 even though the girls would pay the asst for their hair?? HMMM Travel maybe...but $100 that's weird!!!

i dont get it either, bc normally people that do hair get paid directly whether they are the assistant or not. Maybe you can ask her what the extra $100 is exactly for?

That's what I don't understand! I don't know if I'm reading what she wrote wrong, or if this really is the case. She said it's cheaper for me so I don't understand how.

Maybe the original girl is just paying the assistant the $100...but that shouldn't be your responsibility.

To pay the assistant. I'm assuming the money your girls (or you) will be paying to get their hair done will probably go straight to the main hair person. So the main hair person is charging you a flat extra $100 to pay the second girl for coming and then the asst. will just keep whatever tips she gets from the girls she does.

I really hate how as soon as wedding is mentioned automatically, these hidden charges come up. I really think its bs about the extra $100

Right, I think that's what she meant but that doesn't sound fair to me?

That makes no sense.
You are already paying her for the girl's hair to get done.
I would tell her that if she can't handle doing all 11 girls herself, she either needs to find an assistant and pay her using the money she makes or I would just tell her that I am going to find someone else to do either the girls she can't do herself or just do everyone and she would lose the business.
That's c r a p.

Well, your hair person is going to keep the per girls charge for all the girls herself, even the girls the asst does. The asst will only get to keep whatever tips she gets.
So the asst has to get paid something to make it worth her while to work, so she gets an extra $100. I think it's pretty standard to charge extra for an asst. I think nothing is really fair in the wedding industry, but it is what it is.
If you don't want an asst, then maybe ask her how long it will take to do all the girls herself and then start that much earlier. With 11 girls though, that's going to be really really early.

I agree. especially since you are bringing her a LOT of money that day. I believe we are using the same and it ain't cheap. I wouldn't pay it, but that is just me.

I get what you're saying, but why should she have to pay an extra $100? Why not just hire another stylist from another company?

I don't plan on it, thanks danielle! I was hoping someone with the same stylist would respond

This is my point exactly. There are stylists who will come for the fee of the hairstyle without any extra charge.

Re: does this make sense?
I get why she is charing $100 but I am having someone come to me and she is bringing two other people with her and there is no additional fee. Just the per person price.
