Please let me know if I'm being unreasonable. I have 11 people who need their hair done for my wedding. My hair stylist said that she will bring an assistant but it is an extra $100? If my girls are paying for their hair to be done anyway I don't understand what I'm paying an extra $100 for? Can someone please explain this to me if they understand because I don't get it.

unless eventhough she is having an assistant, the assistant isnt getting the money for doing the hair?

i dont get it either, bc normally people that do hair get paid directly whether they are the assistant or not. Maybe you can ask her what the extra $100 is exactly for?

Jess you've got me on this one too. I am using the same person too. I honestly don't see where this $100 is coming from because it's not like the girls aren't paying for the style in the first place

So the main hair person is charging you a flat extra $100 to pay the second girl for coming and then she'll just keep whatever tips she gets from the girls she does.

Well, your hair person is going to keep the per girls charge for all the girls herself, even the girls the asst does. The asst will only get to keep whatever tips she gets.
So the asst has to get paid something to make it worth her while to work, so she gets an extra $100. I think it's pretty standard to charge extra for an asst. I think nothing is really fair in the wedding industry, but it is what it is.
If you don't want an asst, then maybe ask her how long it will take to do all the girls herself and then start that much earlier. With 11 girls though, that's going to be really really early.
I get what you're saying, but why should she have to pay an extra $100? Why not just hire another stylist from another company?
This is my point exactly. There are stylists who will come for the fee of the hairstyle without any extra charge.
I would seriously tell her no thanks to her assistant because you found someone else to do the other girls.

Is your appt. early in the morning? Before their normal business hours? Maybe the charge is for them being there early?

I would tell the girls to go to their own person. That is what I am doing. We have way to many people that need their hair done as well as no room.

Hmmm is she being sneaky and only giving her assistant the $100 and pocketing the rest that the girls pay? Just a thought lol?!

yea i wouldnt pay that...it sounds like the assistant is getting 100 dollars for the day but that 100 dollars should come from the money that you and the girls are paying the regular hair person...not from your wallet...i def would not pay that...you are giving her enough money and business for that day
