I don't think it's cheap at all. Do not listen to your friend, I agree with everyone else, it's a great and thoughtful idea!

I think it's perfect. I am also giving a donation and I think it's the most selfless thing a person can do, I would much rather attend a wedding where the couple gave to someone else that needed it, than get a favor that will just collect dust. You are in no means being cheap, you should be very proud of your donation. Plus, the ornamnent is a good idea because people will actually use it

I think it's lovely as long as everyone celebrates Christmas. It is not cheap at all!!!

first of all, when you are doing the donation as the favor option, you are not obligated to give the guests anything except notification that you are donating to a charity in lnstead of giving a favor
second of all, you are inviting these people to a party and providing them with dinner, drinks, dancing and a night of fun.....anything else is extra! some people opt not to give favors at all....
it's your wedding! do what YOU want!!!

thanks everyone - i forgot to say that everyone will get one rather than one per couple....we wanted ot give something to everyone for coming.....


as for the non-christmas celrbating people - we have pretty much forwarned them - one of my friedns alreayd went out and bought an ornament hanger proudly - she says it going near her menorah!!...we thought of it but couldn't figure out what is similar to do - christmas is both of our fav holidays and so we wante dot bring it into the weding - this way, every year (well before they break them!) each person can put their ornament on their own tree and think of the fun they had!!


ps - cheap or not - you'd be amazed how much xmas ornaments, ribbons and boxes can add up to!!

Tell your friend that since she feels it's so cheap, she won't be insulted when she doesn't get one...and then don't give her one! What nerve. People like that need to STFU and mind their own business!

i don't think that is in anyway cheap, and who is to say what is cheap or not, besides, how can you put a value on helping a good cause. it think that is wonderful!!!
