Does this sound bad?

So yesterday while I was at work all day, John called the travel agent to inquire about the two Globus tours to Italy that we are looking into for the HM. The day before we were looking and there are direct flights to Rome, and we were thinking of maybe doing one of those on our own and then picking up the tour. John told me the travel agent suggested buying the plane ticket from Globus because sometimes if one tour is no filled, they will combine two tour dates together, and you get your tickets fairly close to the tour date. We want to go June 19th and the only sourrounding tour dates are June 17th (obviously a no-go ) and June 22. Most likely they would combine the 19th with the later date, right? Also in June, how likely is a tour to be empty? Isn't June the best time to go to Italy. Does anyone have any advice? Should we go for it?

I'd be so nervous that the flight would be full, or the one you wanted would get combined with another. Our travel agent actually wouldn't even look at flights on US Air for us because they've been having problems and she said there was more chance it could be cancelled.

In my opinion, it's better to be safe and spend a litle extra $$ than have that kind of uncertainty...

I think travel agents are a dying breed. I looked into booking a cruise for HM and called a couple of travel agents, and hotwire and expedia were cheaper, and with a $200 shipboard credit!

I like this tour, though. I think I am not worried about the flight, because if they change the date they are responsible for finding me a flight. I'm just worried that the date may get moved. But is that likely for June? Isn't Italy really popular in June?

Should I go for it?
