Re: DOes this sound like alot

I think it's alot. I am getting alot more for almost double (I have 16 tables though). Depends on what kind of roses, is it tall or low centerpieces and who the designer is.

Re: DOes this sound like alot

I'm starting to wonder of I should of looked anywhere else.
It's not so much the money. I just dont want to hear how ppl are paying 1,000 and getting so much more.
I was sopposed to be going to give my deposit next week.. with 6 weeks to go.. think I have time to look someplace else?

Re: DOes this sound like alot

From my own personal experience, I think that's a lot. We had 13 tables, 4 BM's bouquets, 11 boutiniers, my bouquet, throw away bouquet, votive candles, rose petals, 2 altar arrangements, and 4 coursages for under $1,400. We had all roses. I think you can definitely get a better price. Who are you using?

Re: DOes this sound like alot

I agree that it sounds like alot. We are having 16 tables, 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen, two flower girls, a ring bearer, my bouquet, rose petals on the tables and a few other little things and are paying about $2K. I would keep looking if I were you. If you do a search for florists, you can get some great recommendations from everyone which might help cut back on some of your research. I ended up booking my videographer and florist because of what I read here and it made life alot easier than doing the research myself.

Re: DOes this sound like alot

That is too much IMO, I'd definitely look elsewhere.

I'm getting 20 tables, high centerpeices, my bo-q, 3 MOH bo-q, 5 BM bo-q, 2 Jr BM bo-q, 2 FG baskets, 4 corsages, 14 bouts, all for ~ 2K.

There are many florists that can accomodate you, even though you only have 6 weeks. I used Flower Den, they are the ones that did Shamma's pics, if you want the info, forummail me.

Re: DOes this sound like alot

I also think it sounds a little high...

I noticed that you are getting married at the Chateau Briand. Have you considered using the Scotto Bros. in-house florist? We are getting married at the Westbury Manor next month, and that is who we are using.

We met with Joseph (Perfect Wedding Planner) and he had such amazing ideas. All of our flowers (bouquest, bouts, 20 centerpieces, church arrangements, etc.) will cost just over $ 2K. We are planning on low but long centerpieces (tables are oval at WM) with fall flowers-indian summer sunflowers, dahlias, bluplerum, hypericum, with bittersweet branches, curly willow and barley filling it out. They'll also scatter some small gourds on the table.

Good luck!!

Re: DOes this sound like alot

This place is a local florist shop.
I realize now that If I'm going to pay 1,000 ( which I dont mind) then I rather pay it to a place that has an awesome reputation.
Thanks for the opinions
Off to flowers by michele on monday

Re: DOes this sound like alot

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents for my florist - Flowers By Lorraine in Massapequa. My wedding was sept 14- her flowers were incredible! And reasonable. So many of my guests came up to me during the evening and RAVED about the flowers.

-16 tall centerpieces with 2 dozen roses each/green ivy/baby breath
- 5 bouquets including my own which was roses, stephanotis & calla lillies
- one throwaway bouquet (free - beautiful too - a mixture of my bm style flowers, clutch style!)
- 9 bouts - of very nice size and fresh
- 8 corsages - beautiful, substantial & fresh
- One centerpiece for table cards (free)
-organza pew bows
- a dozen rose petals for cake (half price)

All for $2100 - get your florist to give you some freebies as well as ask to take off the tax if you pay cash. We saved a few hundred dollars in tax by paying in cash.

By the way, the guests took home the centerpieces and while we were away they said the roses lasted for an entire week!! Talk about FRESH!
