I saw a DJ last night and this was the email I got this afternoon:

It was nice to meet you and your fiance' last night. Its funny, I just received an email this morning from a liwedding bride requesting information
for September 18, 2004. Like I said last night, 2004 dates are really coming in fast. I sent her off information and a price list.

I know you two are looking around and I was your first DJ, but honestly the day could go at anytime. I actually have more september dates next year than I do this year, strange but true.

I'm not trying to put any pressure on you, I just wanted to let you know that someone else is interested in the date. Without a signed contract and deposit i can't hold the date.

I dont like to feel pressured. I told him Thanks for the email FI and I will be in touch soon.

I posted on the newlywed board and I got a list of great DJ's from those girls.

the more feedback I have been getting I just laugh at how he tried to put pressure on me.

He has no idea I am Psycho bride. I tracked down the other bride when I found out there was another bride in my hall.

Actually it was my hall first and my DJ first. Yes, you did hunt me down on both things so yes you are a psycho bride.

I might give him the benefit of the doubt. Remeber the make up artist who did not hold a date and someone else booked her and the origional appointment was upset. Well you never know he could be telling the truth. With the amount of traffic this site gets.. I would be only a little cautious.

FI called me and he said dont worry, we have other DJ's to talk to and if he puts more pressure on us we'll just tell him well ok thanks but go with the other couple we'll find someone.

I am not worried at all. I have a list of people i am going to call tomorrow

Mary05: it is possible that there is someone else from here but it is unlikely since we know of only two of us for the same day.

I say pressure.... If you are unsure keep looking if someone else books him don't worry you can find another.

To the September 18th Brides:

When I saw that there are 2 brides so far getting married on September 18th, I just had to say that
I am here to tell you that I know you will have beautiful weather on your wedding day. My birthday is on September 16th, and it always rains on my day, (except for 2001, and I didnt feel like celebrating anyway) and is gorgeous weather a few days before and after that. (Even my family teases me how it always rains on my b-day) Mark my word...You ladies will have a beautiful day. I will pray to the rain gods to rain on my B-Day again in order to give you ladies wonderful weather on your wedding day. Sorry so off-topic, but I just had to add my 2 cents!

I gotta jump in here for a minute. You said you would know the girl if it was the same date. I beg to differ - only 1%, that's one with a capital 'O' use the boards.

Most brides-to-be don't use the boards. They use the site as a research tool. So in actuality, if you knew the girl it would be more of a miracle than the other way around.

Also, remember that the vendors are running a business that feeds their families. So, in a crude kind of way you could say the first one with the check wins. (don't take that out of context)

Think twice about condemning because they are giving you the courtesy of knowing that someone else is interested in their services.
