Does WW REALLY work?

Does WW REALLY work?

I have been doing WW and I feel like I am eating too much, yet I'm actually eating fewer points than it says I should. I don't know. I think after not eating carbs for so long, now I'm gaining weight from what I should be losing weight from I'm so miserable over my weight

Re: Does WW REALLY work?

I am a firm believer in WW since I was doing lo carb and seeing very little change. I Lost 4 lbs on my first week of WW and it is almost a year that I have been on WW and have lost 25 pounds. The KEY to being successful with WW is GOING TO MEETINGS!!!! Trust me on this. I don't know if you are following the flexpoints program- it is the best. They just came out with the new TurnAround plan which gives you food lists that you can eat unlimited amounts of, and then 35 extra or 'flex' points to use on foods that are not on the list.

You really should use ALL of your points if you want to lose weight- using too little can cause weight gain. If you want to ask me any questions, feel free. (I feel like I have mastered WW and love the program- I am a lifetime member since February and it is the first time in 10 years of 'dieting' that I have been able to lose and keep weight off.)

I have been doing WW for 4 weeks and I lost 9 pounds.

Week 1- 7 pounds
Week 2- Nothing
Week 3- 1 pound
Week 4- 1 pound

Aside from WW working, I think it is easy.

Re: Does WW REALLY work?

I lost around 30lbs on WW a couple of yeears ago. I have sinced put most of it back on but I must say, every time I go back on, even if I only stay on for a little while, I always lose.

The meetings are good, I personally never stayed for them...but I did go and get weighed in every week. My FH thought I was nuts to pay $10 a week just to get on a scale, but it was more than that. It was almost like I knew I had to face the music at the end of the week and acknowledge my mishaps or be congratulated for my triumphs!

My biggest problem is that I hate to exercise. Back when I lost 30lbs, if I were excersizing I would have doubled that number.

I tried to start it up again with all of the other chickies here a few weeks ago but I fell off of the WW wagon!

I started counting again today and I am going to try so hard to exercise...even if it is just 1/2 hour a day.

Good luck!

The exercise is my biggest problem too. I HATE to exercise. HATE IT! And if I did exercise, I'd probably be a perfectly normal weight. Why can't I just do what I know is good for me?

WW definitely works. I've found that if you eat to the middle of your point range, you will lose. Plus eating the 5 servings of fruit and veggies that they recommend is also key. Obviously, exercise is good to also help you lose.

I've been on WW for a month now and have lost about 6 pounds. My SIL has been on it for 4 months and has lost 30 pounds!

i've lost about 40 lbs through ww alone. it works if you stick to it! it's nothing but calories/fat/fiber based on your body weight.

I've never been able to lose any weight unless I excercise as well as diet.

Try Body for LIfe. It takes some planning and you definitely do have to excercise, but it is so minimal and you will definitely see results. It's amazing!!!!!

Re: Does WW REALLY work?

I think it can, but there are so many things to take into consideration. I was losing VERY slowly on WW, too slowly for my liking even though that's really the best way to go.

I am a low-carb die-hard fan, because I am never hungry and I lose quickly- I need the instant gratification, especially since my wedding's coming soon. But I am going to try WW again, since it started that Core Program which is similar to Atkins (but probably healthier!)

Good luck!
