I noticed this starting Saturday. My diamond seems a little lose.
The jeweler did say the platinum may bend &that's why I have to bring it in for maintence ever 6 months, so the diamond doesn't fall out, but its only been 4 months.

Should I be concerned?

Its only a slight wiggle, but i don't think its in my head.
I think we can go saturday if we don't have to go to LI for wedding stuff- so far we don't.

That happened to mine after they resized it. If you shake the ring near your ear and you hear any sort of noise it's loose, bring it back immediatley. When I did they made it extremely tight, even visibly so, and the guy said to check it often and if I ever hear noise from it again to go back ASAP.

ETA: I would not leave it there. It literally takes them 5 minutes to tighten it and regardless of the jewelers reputation, it's not smart to leave your diamond ring with them. You don't know what you're getting back. If they tell you to leave it either go back when they have time to do it in front of you or go somewhere else.

I have a princess cut and mine was loose 3X. The last time I went in to get it fixed I flipped out. I was screaming in the middle of the Karat Shop. I may have seemed like a lunatic but I have not had to have my ring tightened in well over 6 months

ooh oohh I do hear a shake.

i didn't think of that. I forgot I wasn't seeign FH tonight, so he can't take it to the store, but we will go saturday.

Unless I go somewhere tomorrow, but there aren't any jewelers by my job, as far as I know.

BTW, FH is all upset. He thinks he got me a bad ring. Funny part is, we picked it out together. He's so cute.

Does the shape matter?
Mine is a round stone.
Do I clean it to mcuh? I only do it about every 2 weeks.

I would have it looked at. I have had mine for 1.5 years and it hasn't moved. I would be scared if it was loose.

Frequent cleaning with a brush can loosen the prongs in any setting, gold, platinum or otherwise. Sometimes just a good soak is all you need.

If you have one of those facial steamers you can put in equal parts vinegar and water and use a pair of tweezer to hold the ring up in the steam and that will clean it.

Do get it tightened as soon as possible

It should not be wiggling! I have been wearing mine for two years now and it as sturdy as ever. You may want to consider having another jeweler look at it. Go to someone that you trust that another family member or friend uses.

Yes, I would bring it back to the jeweler to fix right away. I have a platinum band and my diamond has never moved. I've had it for almost 2 years now.

I have platinum and mine has broken on the band and the pong has gotten bent all the way down! Im left handed and VERY hard on my ring. Its a denser metal but not harder. some jewlers ,(like the karot shop), will fix it while you wait. I know,I hate parting with mine too, but you MUSENT WEAR IT NOW!!! You can get a real cheapie something to put on your finger so you dont feel naked!

You have to take care of this before something terrible happens. Your ring should not have loosened this soon. I was told to have my ring checked once a year, but that I would probably find nothing loose for quite a few years.

I got one of my prongs caught on the fabric of the couch. I didn't realize and pulled my hand away and after that, I realized that my diamond was a little loose. Just slightly, it didn't wiggle, but I could spin it in the prongs. I took it to the jeweler, and he fixed it in less than a minute with a set of pliers.
I agree with the other ladies, don't wear it until it's fixed.
