All 3 of you have it? I've read about it, but I've never heard of anyone I know having it. Is it common?

My shoulder sometimes hurts so bad that I just want to cry. I also have a friend that is in physical therapy for it in his back. I think that a lot of people are diagnosed with it because it is a catch all for any unexplained muscular pain. None the less, it is extremely uncomfortable.

I just did a paper on it for school 3-6 million americans have it.

I know one other friend who has it. Before she was diagnosed I had never even heard of it, and then I was so surprised when my doctor brought it up to me.

EYA: Fibromyalgia is characterized by widespread pain and is most commonly diagnosed by a pressure point test. There are 18 spots on the body, and if 11 of them hurt, it's considere a positive diagnosis. This morning I had to check that I hadn't cut myself or something, the pain was so bad in some of these points you couldn;t touch the skin.

Not sure if I have it, but I have another auto immune disorder that can have the same symptoms..I haven't investigated it as of yet..

But I sure know your pain...
