doesnt get much worse!

i just found out today, 4 months before my wedding that my FH's cousin is getting married the day before us in CANADA... doesnt anyone in his family talk? now we are never going to reach our minimum since the family is going to be divided. sooo upset

Well where does your FHs family live? If they live local they would probably come to yours. You can always ask your hall to lower your minimum. I got mine to lower it 75 people after I signed the contract.

I think most people would go to yours since it's probably easier to get to NY than Canada from CA

This may not help but I invited so many of my friends from CA, thinking they wouldn't make the trip. Now almost ALL of them are coming- except for one friend who is going to be 8 months pregnant! NY is such a great destination that everyone wants to go there!
