Does anyone know of a good dog kennel I can keep my pooches while I'm on my HM and for the day of the wedding? I live in the Dix Hills area! They are two (2) pitbulls

You're question reminded me how scared I am to leave my babies in a kennel during our wedding festivities!!! They're gonna hate me!

'Hounds Town' is a doggy day care/kennel/grooming chain. My dog goes to the one in ROnkonkoma, I'm not sure if there is one by you, but I would check out the website. You have to get an aggression screening at the location before boarding, but its a great place, and my dog loves it!!! $27 a day flat rate. Good luck!

at petsmart they can get a suite with a tv and bed. we leave our little one there a few times. she gets play time and a ice cream treat. she loves it there.

It depends on what you sign up for. If you do group play time then yes, they'll all be together (they separate big dogs and small dogs) but if you just request individual walks then they won't. I recommend playgrp - Chelsea (my dog) has become so much more sociable since she started going AND she comes home EXHAUSTED which is great because 99% of the time she's bouncing off the walls. Plus it's only like $3 more to put them in the group.

Whenever family members cannot watch my pups, I drive all the way to Allentown, PA because my friends own a doggy day care called Camp Bow Wow. They have a few in NY but not that close.
The reason for me bringing my dogs there beside knowing the owners, the dogs are not caged up all day. They play in an indoor/outdoor pen. PLUS, they have a web cam so you could watch them while you are away.
It was great being in Mexico and still being able to see my babies.

That is really awesome! We need some more of these camp bow wow's!!! I am in the midst of trying to fly my dog back to NY about a month before the wedding (May 1st) until I get back from my honeymoon June 13. For the price of the flight it will be the same as leaving here in a day care, at least this way i know she is let out, fed, played with too.
