Dog lovers?

So in the midst of the drama of the final few weeks before a wedding, I had to put my dog to sleep yesterday. For anyone who has every had a dog they refer to in the family count, it is devistating! Reminding everyone to give an extra kiss and scratch behind the ear to their furry friends! Best kind of love ever! - and don't forget to make that a 'definite' for pictures on your day....

OMG I am sooo sorry for your loss. I know how it is, I had all three of my pets die or be put to sleep within a year and half (and I had them for like 15 years). I am such an animal lover I have to control myself sometimes not to take all of them home :(

I am sorry for your loss. It's not easy at all, but usually it's for the best for the animal. You don't want them to suffer - and he's in a good place. I dread the day I have to put my dog to sleep. He's a little over 12 years old now and a my ring bearer so I would hate to lose him now.

Many for you for this sad moment. FH put his dog of 17 years asleep last month.

I'm so sorry about your dog...I'm a big animal lover and I have pets of my own...they definately are your family and it hurts just as much when they pass on as it does when another family member dies...

I'm so sorry for your loss. That is so difficult. Hang in there....

I'm so sorry for your loss. When I was in high school, we had to put our dog of 15 years to sleep. I was so devastated and sad. I can only imagine what you're going through.

'Best kind of love ever' - you could not have said it any better!!! I believe dogs to be little pieces of heaven :)

My dogs run a close second to FH - I feel for you!!!

I had to put my previous dog to sleep in the spring of 1999. It was awful as it culminated a year in which my father (only living parent) had a devistating stroke (had to learn how to walk, talk and try to do everything again but he is still severely handicapped), I moved back in to care for him. I was a rock until I got the call at work one day about my dog's cancer diagnosis and then I completely lost it right in the middle of the faculty room. All I remember saying was 'God, now you're taking my dog away from me'. Having to put her to sleep was by far and away the worst thing I had to do that year because it was just the 'straw that broke the camel's back'.



I always pray for the dogs even though I think they already have a special place in doggy heaven
