We picked up our new dog last night. She is very scared. I cant get her to eat or drink anything. And shes hides under out bed any chance she gets.
So do I force her to come out or do I leave her? How do I get her to at least drink something.
One more question - can you give me a name of a vet in the Port Jeff area.

It can take up to three days fo a dog to feel comfortable.....forcing the dog is a very bad idea. Leave the food & water in a close proximity to the dog & when she nneds to drink she will get it.
There is a really good vet in commack.... let me see if I can find the number.
BTW...what kind of dog???

it tiook our dog 3 days to get adjusted to being in the house in GA from her home in NY (and I'm sure it will be another 3 days when we move into OUR home). Just be nurturing, use soft tones when speaking to her, no loud noises or sudden movements, and try some reats or people food like bread to get her to eat. An animal will not let itself starve. Her nerves are probably a mes right now.

Hi!! You got the shiba!! my cousin has one. THey are great dogs.
Just leave her. Don't force her to come out or eat. Leave the food and water out for her. When she is hungry, she will come out.
SHe is under a lot of stress. Just give her time .
