Dogs in the Ceremony???

Hi!
So we would LOVE to have our dog as part of our ceremony. We are getting married at CLM not sure if they allow it. Planning on outside wedding (weather permitting) Does anyone know? ALso has anyone had their dog in their ceremony. Just wondering on your thoughts... Pros..cons etc.
Thanks!

I doubt that dogs are allowed to be in a catering hall.

I don't think they will allow dogs/animals on the premises for health code reasons. But you should call your hall and ask them about having your dogs involved before you start planing & buying them outfits.

Even though it's an outdoor ceremony you have to keep in mind they are a catering hall and have health codes to follow or they can get in a lot of trouble.

I wish I could have my dog in my wedding though

maybe outdoors but I can't imagine anywhere else. I would check with the place first before buying the dog a tux

I figured that. I was thinking maybe for the outside ceremony but that was probably about it. I will have to give them a call.

I doubt it will happen since then someone would have to take her home and take of her etc. But I was just curious...

i would imagine that you'd have to call up your RH and see what they say--but as far as i would assume---pets wouldn't be allowed at a wedding RH.

i remember asking my hall one time about a dog as a service animal and the maitre d' said 'Only if the animal is a service animal would it be permitted.'

all the people and stuff--i'd be worried the dog would be jumping around and get too excited....what if the dog pees or poops inside? or what if the dog bites someone...guest or employee? (yes i know that people will say 'but MY DOG wouldn't bite' -- but putting them in that situation, anything can happen). or if a guest or employee is highly allergic? i wouldn't want to put that kind of risk to have my poochie there.

i would think it could be a huge liability to the RH.

Thats such a cute idea. I have seen pictures of people who have done it but I never thought about it being an issue. Let me know if you have any luck, I would totally have my puppy in the wedding!

I will keep you posted. If not maybe she can just take pics with us before the wedding. That would at least make me happy. I LOVE my puppy. She is like my child... I am obsesed....

Honestly, I wish I could have but glad I didn't.
I had so much going on during the day & I know I would have been double checking way to much to be sure they were okay or not stressed out. IF you have a venue that is accommodating & someone you can trust that can act as the 'dog handler' during the day maybe.

I compromised & had my lil girl with me in the morning at the hotel as I got ready & got picture with her then. Then I had them stay at their regular house & had someone stop in & feed & check in with her.

Hope that helps

I wanted to have my dog be the ring bearer but couldn't make it work, it was too difficult to have someone take the dog back home and then she would have been alone all night I decided to just have pics taken with her (I bought her a mini wedding dress, it was so cute). It ended up being easier for me and better for her too. Plus I got some sweet pictures

One girl I knew who got married in a park, and she was able to have her dogs in the ceremony but had to leave them a deposit (incase the dog wasn't cleaned up after, or dog caused problem).

But I plan on having the photographer take pictures of me & my pooch while at the house. They'll be there for me to get ready so might as well get a shot with the pooch!

I am thinking this is the better idea. We are from Boston though so she would have to come down with us and find her somewhere to stay while we are on our HM... then go back to NY pick her up and drive back to Boston... The original plan was to leave her with someone she already knows up here in Boston but then she wont be in wedding pics or anything... Tough call.

I wonder if I could even have her come to hotel I am staying at to take pictures.

i SOOOOOO want my dog in my wedding too-(I'm obsessed with my baby like you) I asked at East wind and they said I could have her in the outdoor ceremony, but then someone would have to take her off premises (which i think most places will allow)
my girlfriend had her dog in and it was so cute- they had the leash all decorated with flowers and a desginated person to walk her down last after the flower girl- and then someone did take her after the ceremony.... but check out this link for pet friendly hotels- on the left you can choose nassau or suffolk to search

I would love to have my 2 pitbull babies in my ceremony, but i dont think the chateau would allow it. Plus I wouldnt want my guests being uncomfortable around them since they are pitbulls and have a horrible rep. Mine arent mean or anything but you never know how they would react out of their territory. Im gonna take some pics with them before the wedding so they arent left out. lol.

I have a boxer and people are scared of her all the time. She has the brindle so I guess she kinda looks like a pit but come on... she's a puppy... Not to mention the biggest scaredy cat... LOL! People are funny!

I am opting to take pics with my dog before we leave to go to the ceremony - maybe on my front porch - something outside - he'll be dressed up, for sure!
