Doing my own favors.....any ideas??

I made these magnets for my welcome bags. You can buy magnet paper for the computer. You print right on the paper like regular paper and you cut them out. (use a paper cutter). Then you can put a picture of the two of you or a graphic, or clip art and type your names and wedding date on it. Easy and not to expensive. Three- Four sheets go for about $10. Make chocholate pops with a candy mold in the shape of bride and groom or something that the two of you are interested in. Sachets with a little ribbon attached with your names and date. Votive candles with a saying like 'You've brightened our day.' and wrapped in tulle or organza. Tea Bags made with loose tea and a note that says 'Love is Brewing'. I got loads of ideas. Hope this helps get you started.

Doing my own favors.....any ideas??

First off, Stef, great ideas! Here's a couple more. Order seeds in bulk, like forget me nots. Use a little funnel (paper folded in a cone) to fill velum envelopes. Print off labels with your names and date. Flower bulbs, bought in bulk and tied with tulle and a pretty ribbon. This is very good for a fall wedding since bulbs are supposed to be planted in the fall.

Candies in toole

Search the internet there are tons of ideas there. If you have a cd burner you can do that yourself too.

What we are doing

We bought clay pots- 2 different sizes, and are melting candle wax with color to match the bm dresses and scents. They are time consuming but look fantastic and such a nice look. Or you can buy the votives, stick them in the pots and melt a small amount of wax on top so it looks like you did the whole thing!! We bought so much wax were doing the real thing but its fun! Our centerpiece is ivy (and other flowers) in a clay pot too so it will blend nicely. Good luck!!

Another idea...

I am going back and forth between burning CD's or my original idea which was to buy small, inexpensive flower pots, getting a paint stamp made up (or if you're feeling really crafty, paint it yourself) and writing 'Each time you gaze upon this pot, remember when we tied the knot' and also putting our names and the wedding date. I wanted to put seed packets in the pots and write a poem about how our new life together has just been planted, and will grow and blossom...you get the idea! Love the candle idea mentioned earlier too! Good luck!

If you're torn between the two...

do both! I really like the CD idea but didnt think all the guests would share our tastes in music. So I will be giving out the CDs as my Rehersal Dinner favor and something else (not sure what) as the wedding day favor. I think closer friends and family would be more interested in having our wedding songs on CD than most.

More CD burning ideas

I'm liking the CD-burning idea...but instead of music how about a movie (if one has a great Mac computer like me with great movie software :-) )... This might actually be more labor intensive...but what about scanning in pictures from your past, you can start with baby pictures of the bride and groom and then pictures of the both of you. Maybe add some background music...Of course, without the software and the right equipment it wouldn't quite work. I think I've given myself an idea.... :-) Hey thanks!
