I went and had a makeup trial at a department store and really liked how they did my makeup. It was a line of makeup I've been using for years, so I'm really used to their techniques and products. Plus one of my BMs has offered to help me and she is really good with makeup.
Am I crazy to think I can do my own makeup for my wedding?

You're not crazy at all..... If you are confident that you can do your own makeup for that day than by all means.......
Unfortunately for me I don't wear makeup on a daily basis so i need someone to do it for me.

I say no and let a professional do it. Just let a professional do it as you only get married once, sure make-up artist is expensive but worth the money. You want to look your best on your big day.

I'm still debating on doing my own make up. I havent seen anything that I dont think I can do myself. I hate paying a hundred for it. If you think you can do it then save yourself the money. Lots of people do their own hair and make up. It all depends on how confident you feel about it. Give yourself a few trials! :)

I think I am doing my own makeup, I will probably have one of my bm help me. If my budget allows it, then I will think about having it done.

I would not attempt it, even if the person is extremely talented. The reason being, there are so many things the bride is going to be caught up in all day long that this is a lot of added stress on her that she doesnt need. And I would be afraid that even if the makeup looks nice, unless its the right type of makeup, how is it going to look in the pictures? Will it stay all day?

i did my own and it stayed on all day - i used MAC products. I didn't want to look made up I have had that done before and i didn't look like myself. The one thing my husband asked is that i look like me and not some 'made up' person that he doesn't see everyday. I wear makeup most everyday and know how to apply it to look good, so i didn't worry about that, it was just weather or not it would last and the MAC was great. Practice and take pictures and see what you think!

Couldn't have said it better myself!
Just make sure you 'play' with your face well before your wedding. Don't wait until the week before!
