I keep hearing about good inexpensive places in the city. How do I find them?

What type of jewlery are you looking for? If you are looking for real gold/platinum jewelry I would think the diamond district owuld be your best bet. As far as jewelry of the silver variety, I have noo idea where to go! HTH!

looking for costume stuff. i heard there is an area in the city with a bunch of these shops. i just have no idea were.

In the 30s on 7th ave (above 34, below 42) there are a ton of costume jewelry-type shops. i've walked by a lot but never gone in. it's the fashion dist. so i'm not sure if it's more supplies to make your own jewelry or if they sell a lot pre-done. might be worth a shot.

i think the area you are talking about is the fashion district, i think it's around west 38th street.

There is a store called ENTTRA and the address is 141 West 37th street between 6 and 7th ave....

It has the BIGGEST selection of earrings and necklaces I have seen yet and they are having a special I guess and everything in there is 50% off.....

I bought my 9 bridesmaids stuff there!!!!!!!!

That is true.. this area has tons of costume jewelry.. I totally forgot about that!

there is the wholesale district for jewlery/handbags... its a long strip between 28-34th street and between 8-9 aves. Most places are wholesale only but some let you shop retail if you spend a min of 50 dollars (which if you purchase your BMs jewerly you will do that)
