Has anyone gone to an all inclusive resort in DR...if so, can i have the website...we are looking into this..thanks!

yes i just got back from puerto plata sunvillage resort and spa.
i thougt it was great. i went with a girlfriend. the down is that there is not a big spa as advertised. But they do have a mini spa (room) I think it is great place. I saw three weddings take place there the week i stayed.
I heard that punta cana is the place to go for honeymoons. That is where I am going wityh FH. However, I have not looked into it. Bavaro is supposedly the best spot to go to there.

we have been to DR twice, once in Punta Cana and once in LaRomana... both times we stayed in Iberostars... I highly recommend these hotels, great service, great people, awesome time... you can get more info here IBEROSTAR

we stayed at Secrets Excellence. and it was good. it was thru a tavel agent and Apple Vacations. not sure of the exact web site. but it's a couples only all inclusive perfect for honeymooners

No yet but I will for my honeymoon on 9/4! We are going to Punta Cana and are staying at Secrets, it's all inclusive and it looks so beautiful from their website and brochure, plus I heard great things about them..check it out click here

i booked Secrets for my honeymoon and it was 3000 for the both of us... FM me if you want travel agent info. She is a vendor on here as well.. She was awesome!

Ive been to La Romana and stayed at the wyndham viva resort they have 2 I stayed in the dominicus palace side- its all inclusive and we loved it

it costs us like 3300...but thats cause we have an upgraded room and insurance! We also booked through a travel agent by my house

i've stayed at the allergo resort, riu bambu and iberostar in punta cana.
the allegro was beautiful, a lot of kids though not sure if you want that on your honeymoon, because a lot of events is revolved around them so you do see them a lot. cute though, but it is your honeymoon.
iberostar was beautiful. didnt care for the riu.
melia tropical is supposed to be nice

We went to Punta Cana and stayed at the Melia. It was great, lots of food choices, fabulous pool and beach, and nice rooms. We payed about 4k for 5 nights all inclusive and airfare in December.

a lot of travel agents are pushing Melia right now, its got a lot of really bad reviews lately on trip advisor and in fact my travel agent said she wouldnt send us there b/c they received several letters of complaints about it. one of the letters even had pictures with it about bugs and food staying out too long in the heat etc.
ETA I just realized that Meila Tropicale and Melia Caribe both have the same name and I dont know which one is the bad one! Check out trip advisor. :) sorry!

I have been to DR twice, but my DH's parents are from there and I am very familiar with the island.
We also stood at a Barcelo property as well as a Coral by Hilton in Juan Dolio...can't recommend either.
In Punta Cana, Secrets Excellence and Paradisus get the best reviews...and the people I know who have been there love both.

Thanks so much for your reply!!!! I just checked out Trip Advisor and saw all of the bad reviews! I've been seeing good things about Iberostar. I think we'll go with that.

I go to Dominican Republic every year with my company and we stay at Casa De Campo in La Ramona. It's really nice and they have all inclusives.

I stayed at this hotel as well in Punta Cana and I loved it.
