Congrats!! I would say you definitelly should get one. They might let u in with no problems, but coming back home will be a nightmare

Yes you need a passport to travel there it is outside the country.

You may want to get a passport just to have one, but you DO NOT need one for DR. If you don't have a passport you need to have your original birth certificate, with the raised seal, and you need to have photo ID, your license is fine. You don't get through customs any faster or slower with or without a passport. My fiance and I have been to Jamaica and DR and I have a passport, he doesn't, and it's never been an issue.

That sounds like the same deal for Canada. There are a few places outside the us where you don't need a passport.
Given the heightened state of security, I would not step foot out of the US without a passport.

YOu do not need one for the Domincan Republic but like the others said, I would have one. I would not travel out of the Us without one. Were going to Aruba, another place you do not need one but we got passports justin case. I'd rather beon the safe side...

Yes you do. I think you need a visa too. Your travel agent can provide you with those. I think they are $20.00.
If you don't want to go thru hell with customs (my parents are dominican, this is how I know), get one. Customs can be nasty when you come back because people try to sell their passports for lots of $$$.

you girls are freaking me out. Im going in one week and I do not have a passport. I just called my travel agent and you do not need a passport. it even says it on your ticket as long as you have a valid drivers license and a original birth certificate with the raised seal from the county.
I was just freaking out.
It is always good to have one but you definetly dont need one

For all those girls who are concerned that they still don't have their passport.....and feel that they should have one or you definitely need one...you can go anytime from 14 days before your vacation to the city , and get your passport that day, your appointment would have to be before 1:00 to pick it up in one day, otherwise the next day. Fh, and I traveled to Europe ten years ago (passport just expired :( ) and we got our passport the day before our trip lol

Although my travel agent assured me you definetely dont need one. I still feel like getting one. But I would have to change my name right afterwardss.
