I remember a while back seeing a show ... maybe Oprah, or maybe the news...about a woman that picks up flowers from corporate events and brings them to nursery homes, etc...to help brighten their lives. I want to do this w/my centerpieces but I can't find the foundation... does anyone know what I'm talking about?!
TIA!!!

Re: donating centerpieces...
although i don't know the name of the foundation, i can tell you that if you donate them to a non-profit, the cost will be TAX-DEDUCTIBLE.

Re: donating centerpieces...
if you can't find an organization, i'm sure the local hospitals and nursing homes would welcome them.
That's a great idea! Let us know how it goes and if they will pick up on LI. I would love to do this also

Re: donating centerpieces...
Ok for those that are interested, I got the scoop...
The foundation is called flower power (located in NYC 212-308-4930 and they donate the flowers to the hospital of your choice (u pick from a list, could be for elderly, veterans, ronald mcdonald house etc) and you must give a $500 minimum donation as well...yikes! I think I'm gonna pass, its just too much right now...

I know right!? Well, I guess they have to send people to get them (at midnight no less), disassemble them and then deliver them. I just don't have the extra $$ but I love the idea

Re: donating centerpieces...
I work at a nursing home and I know that we get flowers a lot from companies around. It really puts a smile on their faces!

Re: donating centerpieces...
I know this may sound weird but maybe try calling the local funeral home? Maybe they would know.
