donating money to more than one charity

Hi all. Instead of giving a favor we are going to donate money to the American heart association and the lung cancer association since both of our grandparents passed away because of these diseases. Since we are donating to 2 of them I want to make a scroll or something to give. But I am not sure on the wording. For those of you that have or are doing this...did you make your own, order them etc.....and what wording did you use?

Thanks

I think that is a great idea, and I'm sorry, I don't have any specific wording, but I would make sure you mention that you are honoring your relatives - it would make it very special.

I'm doing this too...but have yet to figure out what I want to say. I will keep you posted as to what I figure out! (btw, we're doing the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the American Cancer Society).

Re: donating money to more than one charity

I just talked to both associations and all though they will both send me something to give everyone, i am not sure if people will take home 1 card, let alone 2. I was thinking about making 1 large one per table, in a frame and putting it by the centerpiece. The people from the association said that you can put:
We have chosen to make a donation
in loving memory of our grandparents,
(then their names)
to the following charities.

but i think that sounds so impersonal. My grandfather just died 3 months ago and i feel that i owe him more than that. I think it just sounds so generic. but i also don't know what else to say...so i am stuck!!

Re: donating money to more than one charity

I just took the wording from the ADA website and modified it. This is what it said:

With much thought and consideration,
we have chosen a special way
to say Thank You for sharing
our wedding day with us.

In lieu of a traditional wedding favor,
we have made donations in your honor
to the American Diabetes Association,
and to the American Foundation for AIDS Research
to help fight these diseases and one day find a cure.

We feel the finest gift is one which helps
others live longer and healthier lives.

We truly appreciate your being
part of our special day.

All Our Love,

Did you make them? That is beautiful.

Yupper made it myself...instead of working

We are making the donations in the name of the brides name and grooms names wedding attendees.

Are you putting one at each table in a frame or is each guest getting there own in a scroll...etc. Sorry so many questions but i am clueless on what i should do for this

I used photoshop 7.0.

We are placing one at each place setting scrolled up and tied with a calla lilly tie twist. I made about 120 of them on Saturday during that rain we had.....I will take a picture of them scrolled and tied tonight and post it.

How about having each table represent a different charity that you donated to? You could easily find charities that interest you. I can think of many different types that I would include if I were doing this.
