Donation Favor... Help Please!

Donation Favor... Help Please!

This is something that is very important to me.

A friend of mine and Vinny's was killed by a drunk driver so we are doing a donation to MADD in his honor/memory in lieu of traditional favors.

I am going to place the order for the cards that explain this (two will go on each table-- on an easel that FF is providing). I just need help w/ the wording and what will go on the card.

Our friend's name was Kenny and I have a picture of him that will go on the card with the explanation. I was looking for something really sweet and touching-- but at the same time it explains what we are doing instead of 'physical favors'.

Help?? Websites?? Templates?? Ideas-- anything?! LOL!

Thanks so much- this is probably the most important and meaningful part of our entire wedding. I am also going to have someone at FF hand out MADD ribbons along with chocolate truffles as our guests leave for the evening.

Thanks so much girls- ANYTHING that you can do to help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Donation Favor... Help Please!

how about this - or did you want something less traditional?
in lieu of traditional favors the Birde and Groom wish to make a donation in memory of their dear friend, Kenny.
Then maybe you can add a line or two from a poem about friendship? just an idea

I still think that is so sweet ...especially because he brought you together!

THe wedding we went to last week had a sign on the table that simply said, 'In lieu of favors, [bride's name] & [groom's name] have made a donation to the American Cancer Society' - and the sign had a breast cancer ribbon on it.

I think something along the lines of

In lieu of traditional favors, Danielle and Vincent have chosen to honor their late friend, Kenny M....., with a donation to MADD (I would spell out the words, not use the abbre.)

and then like Jenn suggested, a line or 2 from a friendship poem would be awesome!

How about...
Dear Family and Friends,
In lieu of traditional favors the bride and groom ( I would use your names) have made a donation in their friend, Kenny (last name) memory to MADD.
( Write a bit about Kenny if you feel you can)... or you can say,'We know Kenny is shining down on us on our special day and want to donate in his memory for it to live forever on. As he will forever live on in our hearts.' (don't know if that is too much)
Thank you for being part of our lives and sharing in our wedding day. Love... HTH ?

We're doing ACS and their samples had some great wording. Here's a link to the donation favor site with examples ...

Not sure if you came across this yet but i did a search and heres a memorial poem that might work if you incorporate his name in there:

In Loving Memory

We thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too
We think of you in silence
We often speak your names
Those we love don’t go away
They’re with us everyday
Unseen, unheard, but always there
Although it seems unfair
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we'll never part
God has you in his keeping
You're forever in our hearts
In Loving Memory of....

Thank you so much everyone!!!

Some of things that were written brought tears to my eyes and fond memories, of course.

Thank you-- this is PERFECT!
