So here I am re-thinking my favors, and the thought of donating to the American Cancer Society is crossing my mind over and over. FH's mom passed away from cancer 4 years ago and my aunt is currently battling lung cancer. I think it would be really special to make that donation and present our guests with the bracelets and little notes stating that we have made such donation and in whose memory.
Have any of the past brides done this before? can you show me your pics? How you set it up etc? Thank you so much!

If you are looking to donate to ACS I can recommend donating to Camp Adventure. It's ACS's Camp for kids with cancer and their Brothers and Sisters. I have been volunteering with them for about 6 years now and it is awesome. It is 1 week long, free for the kids fully staffed by volunteers. If you are interested. Call the Happague office and ask for Marianne Esolen!

We did donation favors to the National Parkinson's Foundation in memory of my grandma & The American Diabetes Association in memory of my grandpa!
We did little favor boxes (3x3x2) filled with chocolates & have attached a scroll with a poem explaining the donation...I will have a picture soon!

I think Hollie did this. She used wht favor boxes and placed the note and bracelet inside. We are doing the same, except substituting the bracelet for chocolate since we are donating to more than one charity. Like Hollie, we are tying the favor box w/ ribbon, and our monogram will be adhered to the top.

Kris is right. We donated money to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. We realized that the top of the bracelet bag had info about the charity so we put that face up and wrapped it with red tissue paper. We then wrapped the box with ribbon and put our monogram tag on it.

The only thing is that we're not giving out bracelets since each stands for something in particular...for example the LiveStrong bracelets are for cancer survivors, the pink ones are for breast cancer awareness, etc...we want to make a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society and will most likely just do an edible favor with the scrolls...

sylvia - try going to a website of the cancer foundation you would like to donate to. they often will have pictures and samples of what they will send you if you make a donation.
i donated to cancer also - but childrens cancer. st. jude has a section of its website containing all the information if you did a wedding favor. they sent us beautiful scrolls with me & mattys name and our wedding date on top explaining what st. jude does and the serives they provide for children battling cancer and their families.
i love the donation favor and i recommend you do it.
