Donation in place of favors

My fiances mother passed a few years ago to breast cancer and in lieu of favors, we wanted to make a donation in her honor to a breast cancer charity. I would like to hear everyone's opinion. Is this something that you would admire as a guest, or does it seem 'cheap' since you don't get to take anything home with you.. Just curious!

I think it is a nice thing to do. Especially because it is something close to his and your hearts.

i never miss favors when i see the donation cards...i find them to be honorable. Include the meaning behind it on a card.

I would love to know that a donation to a a charity was given on my behalf!!! you could always give a pink ribbon something with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing a donation favor. I think as long as I explain that a donation was made, it will go over just fine.

I have been to other weddings where a donation was made, and it went over well with all guests.
I have also been to a wedding where there was no notice of a donation being made and no favor being given out and that did not go over so well. So, just make sure there is some sort of notice.

I'm going to make the charitable donation note on the back of the menu. Two stones with one stationary.
