Donations

I'm thinking of donating money to a charity instead of a favor. Can you girls give me some ideas, i heard some people are getting the different color wristbands for the cancer, does anyone else know of something a little different? TIA

If you look at the I Do Foundations website, there is a list of charities that you can donate to. You can also donate to a particular charity of interest even if they are not listed on the site. They have all the instructions explaining what you need to do.

We're going to donate to an international organization that focuses on womens rights and gender based violence.

I am going to make a donation to tuberous Sclerosis - it effects kids and it is when a child has tumors in his.her body....

You can give the magants for the car. That is what I am going to do...

p,s their is no cure to date so every donation helps to provide research

I know where i want to donate, I just dont know how to present it the day of the wedding. I went to a wedding and got a ribbon with a little card that said 'so and so is donating to MS foundation' I wanted to do something different..

I agree..we are also thinking of a donation and we know to where but wanted to give a little something..I thought the Livestrong things were cool...do you think they are played out? I'm not really sure what else...sorry I'm not more help!

I don't think you necessarily have to have some sort of novelty to go with it.. for ex. I am doing a donation in memory of my father for the Nat'l MS chapter. I plan on printing on a card..

In lieu of a favor a donation has been made to xyx in loving memorey of xyz....

We plan on puting the cards on the tables along with a small box of truffles..or other candy, haven't decided which.

I think it is a great idea to donate to a charity, in lieu of a gift. We recently went to a wedding where they donated to the american cancer society. I would have liked to recieve something that said they donated, like a card or something...At this wedding, they wrote a newsletter about how they met;got engaged; the bridal party; where they will be on their honeymoon; and that they donated to the cancer society in lieu of a favor. I guess i would have liked to have something more formal about the donation... does that sound weird?

i really do think it is a great idea!

no, it isn't weird at all. Most people expect a favor so if you don't get something formal i would think it is kind of weird. i am going to donate but trying to do something formal as well.
