Donations in Lieu of Favors - Wording Help!

We made a donation to chartiy in lieu of favors and got FH's company to match our donation!

Is it proper to announce the gift matching and his company's name or just say a donation was made and forget about the matching part?

please help!

Hmm, I guess you could do either way. But if you want to include it, I would write something like:

'In lieu of traditional favors, the bride and groom (or your names) have made a donation to The Blank Blank.

So and So Company graciously matched the bride and groom's donation, for which we are very thankful.'

The wording would have to be played around with, but just a general idea.

I like Mrs. Q's idea - maybe just a nice acknowledgement/thank you

I like this idea too! I feel weird not acknowledging a gift matching (and it's a good thing that double money went to the charity).

Thanks for your suggestion!

I'd also feel weird about not mentioning the matching donation - more so if people from his company were at the wedding it might be a bit awkward.
