done a million times before BUT are u going to.. (poll)

go to cocktail hour? and what's your reasoning?

i want to go to the end of it but everyone says that brides never attend. i know i'll end up going but i was wondering what u girls were doing.

I am DEF going to mine. We are doing pics before the ceremony so we have time to mingle at the CH cause I wanna be able to dance at the reception.

It seems as though I'll be spending my entire CH taking pictures since I'm getting married at my hall.

I am definatly going to be at the CH, chowing and drinking it up.
It is the day and I am going to love every minute of it!!!

I'm not missing the CH at Villa's! I also want to listen to the CH singer we are having. Most of all, though, I want to say hello to everyone at the CH, so I don't have to worry about it during the reception. Even if I can't get to everyone, I'll be happy if I manage to talk to half.

we're gonna be at ours we scheduled it so that we would have time to take pics between the ceremony and coctail hour... so we'll be at at least half of the coctail hour if not more.... even our caterer said its a great way for us to say hi and do all the small talk stuff so that we can spend our reception partying besides... this day is costing WAAY too much for us to 'miss' any of it!

We went and I'm glad we did. We got the hellos out of the way and were able to enjoy our reception fairly uninterrupted.

I'm hoping to spend some time alone with my new hubby, as per the Jewish tradition--and then mingling with the guests, but if we can't get our pictures done with before the ceremony, I'll be doing that!

This is one thing that FH, FMIL and I are very firm on....all of us (family, FH and I) attending the entire CH!! FMIL complained that she missed parts of CH for her daughter and other son's weddings. I reassured her that I have made it very clear to the photographer that we want to be DONE with posed shots before CH!

If you are able to be there, BE THERE. We all spend all of these months planning and preparing, and it goes by soooo fast. Soak up every minute of it. IMO--Dont hide in the suite until the introductions. Its not worth it.

We have a gap in between where all the photos will get taken....we'll arrive at our CH by the boat (if it is sunny )at CLM and enjoy the rest of it with our guests after some private time.

We will be taking pictures for half and going to our cocktail hour for half.
We definitely wanted to say hello to people then so we don't miss out during our reception.

We tried to make it to ours but we were a half hour late. When we got there, all hell was breaking loose, at least in my eyes it was. So, I missed it all.

Ditto. I am doing Yichud also(for about 5-10 minutes) - eliminates the need for a receiving line which could cut into the cocktail hour for about 20 minutes to a half hour with the amount of guests we expect to have. Since we are paying extra $$$ per person for sushi chefs during the cocktail hour, I sure as hell ain't missing them!

People will get just as excited when we are announced at the reception as they would if they already saw us at the CH. They wouldnt be like 'Oh its just them again!'

i;m taking pics during the CH but then i'm going to go and mingle when we are done, we are having a hour and a half CH, oh yeah and i will also be eating!!!!!!!
