Congrats on finishing A+P! IMO that course was the hardest of all the courses including the nursing classes. Having a good concept of it is what will get you through your med/surg classes, without it one would be totally lost and have a difficult time. I wish all of you the best of luck, and I look foward to working with all of you..What great collegues I will have!

my teacher emailed me friday that i go the A in the class- that was seriously the Best christmas gift (though, i did have to work my Butt off for it )
I'm still so nervous about applying though- it's soo competitive But, it's very reassuring to know that the nursing classes aren't ridiculously harder than A&P 1! (i was afraid that A&P might be considered a walk in the park compared to the nursing classes)

Congrats on getting your A in anatomy!! I never even got an A, I got an A- in part one and a B+ in part 2 (after I took part 2 over and got a D+ the first time! I had a terrible teacher btw and the highest grade in that class was a B) and I still got in to nursing school. Dont get me wrong, the nursing courses are not easy by any means, but its a different type of studying for nursing classes than it is for any other classes you have ever taken, but since it is more interesting (most of the time anyway) its easier to understand i think. You will see what I mean when you start and I am sure anyone else on this board will tell you. I think one of the main problems is that they do not teach from the start HOW to answer a nursing question. If you can, go get an NCLEX-RN review book and look over the types of questions they ask and you will be ahead of the game. Even if you have no idea what the answers are, thats OK, you will still know the style of questions. Memorization is not enough, you really have to understand the material to pass a test because they will never pose a question like 'what is the definition of X'. Anatomy is probably one of the only classes pre-nursing that is similar to that, you have to understand it to get a good grade which you have done, you will do great in nursing school! Having a good concept of anatomy is what will get you through nursing school because they will only give you like a 15 minute review of the anatomy before they throw you into the material so if one doesnt really understand the anatomy they will be lost when they are relating it to diseases of that system and the care of the patient.
