i just noticed that my diamond has a big black speck in the middle of it! i mean you cant reaallly see it unless you look at it really closely, but nonetheless its a speck that you can see with the naked eye! i know FH spent a decent amount of $$ on it and the appraisal says VS2. what should i do? should i get it appraised somewhere else ?(the appraisal we have is from where he bought it)
does anyone else have this on their diamond?

I had a emergency with my ring and im not one to panic but i was a nervous wreck so i geel your pain. I had gone to jewlery store to make a payment on FH ring and when i go they always clean my ring for me, when the lady came back and said they couldnt clean it since two of my stones were lose. I called FH instantely and he didnt answer i drove to the jewlery store where he bought it and they said i would need to leave which i didnt want to do over night, long story short it was fixed and im happy all over again :), FM me if you want the name of the apprasier we used i loved him, i think his name is ed, i would need to look up his info, it wasnt expensive and he was wongerful her can come to you it you want. GOOD LUCK

no you can only see it from the top (probably cuz the sides are so dirty). its definately in the middle of the diamond. FH doesnt want me to obsess about it he says VS2 means u can sometimes see imperfections with the naked eye but im like this is a big friggin speck
If the sides are dirty I would just get it cleaned. A week after I got my ring I thought I saw a spot in it and freaked out... but then I cleaned it and it was fine... it could be a reflection of the dirt on the sides or something... it is amazing how a tiny speck of dust can look like a flaw.
that is true too.....when i first got engaged i always kept my ring clean - now, not so much i honestly feel like my diamond looks different when the ring is clean - dirt, dust and soap scum can make a diamond look dull and less sparkly....maybe all you need is a good cleaning....
which reminds me, i should really clean my diamond earrings! they are probably filthy!

check your GIA report, it should list all the inclusions and where they are in the diamond
