Don't know what to do...

Hi girls...
I'm sorry to bug you guys but I'm in such a cr@py mood today and I really don't know what to do about this situation. FI and I had a big argument last night (naturally over something STUPID) and we still haven't resolved the situation. I feel really bad because I have a tendency to over react and this time I did. Long story short in the course of the argument, I said some REALLY mean things about him and his family and now I feel really bad. I know I should have never said what I said, and to be honest; I didn't really mean what I said. I just said it out of anger. I know I can't take it back but I just want to make up for it. I also wish I could just keep my head in these situations and not just blurt out the first thing that comes to my head...

dont worry everything will be fine just apologize and tell him what you wrote on here!!! Trust me i have a hoorible temper and over react i know what you mean!! It will be fine

This is a very stressful time and I've found myself in the same situation during the past year. Write him a letter, or leave him a message, or just talk to him and tell him how you feel. Explain that you said those things out of anger and that you would never intentionally hurt him. Get a nice card and write something meaninful in it. I'm sure things will work out!

I know how you feel, I have done this in the past with FI (quite ashamed of it actually). All I can say for now is to apologize sincerely to him and that it will blow over, if you tend to over react to things FI probably already knows this and loves you anyways Not that that means you have a free pass to overreact bu don't beat yourself up over it, because that will make you feel worse...but LEARN from it.... It might not happen overnight and maybe in a week from now you will overreact again....But if instead of guilt you take that feeling and really make a hard effort not to react that way in the future I'm sure FI will be overjoyed....Good Luck!!!!!

Thanks girls... I have to admit it's nice to know I'm not the only one out there with a short fuse. I hate that I'm like that and for the most part I try to keep a clear head but last night, I definitely didn't.


The annoying thing is that the argument was over something that is a constant thorn in my side and I just don't know how I can move on and let it go. Whenever I think I have, it just creeps up again and we argue. It's a shame too, b/c we'd just gotten back from a great dinner out together. We were having a great evening before all the sh!t hit the fan.

It's called diarrhea of the mouth...I do it too..just give him some time to cool down and then talk to him. Sometimes we all need some space to calm down first or we won't really hear what the other person has to say. Good luck hun!

I always write a letter so they can think about it before you two talk again.

If he will listen though, I would just talk to him and tell him what you told us.
