Don't know what to do about make up now

Original post by emomma17

So i didn't realize when I booked my make up that when she asked how many people would be getting it that it mattered. I didn't know at the time so I gave her a guestimate. Now I just called to tell her how many it would be and schedule another trial for the rehearsal dinner, since there aren't 4 people getting their make up done the price has now gone from: Bride being 200 to 300 and the additional my sister 150 instead of 100. If I can come up with 2 more girls it will go back to the price. The rest of my party is getting their make up done on their own! 300 is a lot, I feel...and 150 is def. a lot for non air brush. Part of me wants to look somewhere else but I don't want to deal with the headache of looking around!!! Any thoughts or opinions??

Maybe you can have her do your make-up and hire someone else for the BM?? The girl I used is a freelance wedding make-up artist. She doesnt overcharge at all. Let me know if youre interested.

She has a min. of 3 people also. It's what my issue is...it's just me. My BM's are all going on their own.

i know between hair and makeup im spending like over 2500 on them all!

yeah that is what im doing - for me its not as bad b/c its only 3 bridesmaid and my MIL (she is getting hair and make up too - my mom isnt, shes weird and wants to do it herself ) at first i was going to pay for their hair and majority of make up but at this point i dont think i will be able to pay for it all - so i am paying $50 toward hair for them and $100 toward make up for them - so it will cost them $100 each and it will cost me $150 for each of them but thats only if i book with the expensive m/u artist - but i want to feel like a princess that day and i want my girls to look and feel beautiful too, so ill just have to figure out a way to make it work.....

besides hair and make up the BP gifts are really stressing me out - b/c i want to get the girls generous gifts but its going to be hard if im already throwing up $150 for each of them for hair and make up - i HAVE to figure out something i think for the boys we are getting them the flip, its like a mini camcorder thingy - but for the girls i still dont know what to get them and i dont want to cheap out on them

you have time to find someone else. That doesnt sound fair. If you cancel her she is never going to find a bridal party that big to cover what she is asking anyway - screw that meanie

That seems like an awful lot--I got make-up for 4 people for in the $300s....and I got airbrush! I would recommend looking around, it seems like a lot to spend $450 for 2 people!

I used Janine Maloney and she was great!! Highly recommended!

I have an idea....would you go to a makeup artist for a lesson instead?
Someone could do a chart and teach you how to do it?
