don't laugh! what do you think of ornaments used as reception decor?

i'm having a Royal wedding theme and my main color is gold. the wedding will be in august and because of the holiday season, i see a LOT of gold stuff!!!

recently, i saw these beautiful gold ornaments in different shapes (heart, star, sphere) that i thougth would be perfect to hang in manzanita trees spray painted in gold glitter. i was thinking of having that in our escort card table...

do you think it is ok if i use these holiday ornaments for my reception???

Absolutely! Do it! Technically you are decorating a tree. LOL!

ETA: As long as they're not obviously Christmas-y.

I'd opt for delicate ornaments. I keep picturing big gawdy Christmas ornaments when that probably isn't at all what you are saying. I think it's a great idea to buy ornaments now but opt for more refined ornaments.

thanks everyone! i think i AM going to buy it... after christmas so that it's cheap! hahaha

the ornaments i saw doesn't scream christmas at all!!

I don't remember where I saw it maybe a review of something but someone used gold ornaments as placecard holders and I thought it was really nice.
