Don't let FH talk to anyone about RSVP's!!!

So FH comes home and tells me last night that he spoke to one of his friends about the wedding (RSVP was due last saturday, and they hadn't responded yet). His wife is pregnant, due 3 days after the wedding. They aren't sure if they can come. . .so FH told him

'we will put you down as coming, and if you come you come, and if you don't you don't'

Whhhhhhhattt????? noooo. . .noooo AND nooo. I was like, you can't tell people that! i have given a few people a little more time because they aren't 100% sure yet, but we are not paying for these seats so that they have the option of coming!!

what is wrong with him???

I have a similar problem. My cousins wife gave birth 1 week ago and they live in Maryland , and they keep saying they arent sure. I am 11 days away, when do you think you are gonna tell me.

i think some people say they aren't sure because they don't want to hurt your feelings by saying no.
i would rather just get the no and move on.

it has to be definite answers!

I have made it very clear to people that if they can't attend, I understand and will not be offended!

But they need to let me know

Leave it as he told them, just don't include them in the number. If the last minute they decide to come you can squeeze them into a table. Trust me, it will be fine! And you'll save money in case they don't come. Just make sure he doesn't tell anyone else this! haha!
