Dont respect ALL the Elderly !

I was in the parking lot today, with my blinker on, ready to get my spot as one lady was about to leave. Just as I turn my wheel, this mid 60's, wise-guy, all spiffed out (ego bigger than his head), rolls an empty shopping cart into the spot !

So my first reaction would be to ABSOLUTELY let an elderly person have the spot. But this guy just stood there, with his empty shopping cart 'Holding' the spot, and crossed his arms and looked at me as if to say 'NAH NAH NANA NAAAAHHH'. So I REALLY wanted that spot because I knew had I to do a HUGE grocery shopping, and I was by myself with the baby. So I said 'Excuse me...(and gave him a look as if to say, uhmm MY SPOT !, but held my cool and just said 'I have a baby in the car'..
This spot was RIGHT in front of the grocery store and I would have had to go through the lot with the baby and a cart full of stuff... So he responds 'so whats a baby got to do with it ??' I wanted to spit on him ! I Was like 'this is my spot! you cant reserve a spot!' and he just kind of ignored me...

So I decided to just not waste any more of my time on this loser, and I parked acrosss the way. Now I had to get the baby out, find a cart, and I got so distracted from my thoughts that I took his snap-n-go out of the trunk, realized I didnt need it and then had to take him out of it, close it up and put it back. I put him in the grocery cart. But I had to shlep baby in carseat across lot street till I found a grocery cart..
Then he said to me as he smiled with a 'ba$tard smile. He goes 'see ? now was that so hard???'
I just said 'you are SOMETHING ELSE ! What a gentleman you are !' 'FOR WHAT REASON DID YOU DO what just just did ?? What did you accomplish?? Shame on you !'


and I just went about my shopping. He just said something like 'dont judge another persons situation, its foolish' (as if to say he had a wife with a bad leg that had to park there-why wouldnt he have just SAID IT ???!!!)... He looked like the type that wouldnt have thought twice about smacking me, so I walked away, otherwise I would have continued my ripping him to pieces...

I never felt so disrespected ! especially with a baby in tow...

OMG!! What an *******!!!!!!! I would've ran him over I CAN'T believe some people.

OMG!!! I would have gotten out of the car, gave his cart a real good push, hoped back in the car and pulled right into the spot while he ran for it.

I agree, that was completely disrespectful.

OOOHHHH!!! That just made me so mad reading it. If i was in your situation I would not have been nice. I would have seriously done what I wrote or even worse, pulled into the spot and run over the cart and tell him this is a warning next time it could be you.

My God the bottom of my stomach just fell out!!!!

I swear I am starting to hate people more and more everyday. What a complete ASSHOLE. I don't care if his wife had one leg and the other had 2 toes..HE HAD NO RIGHT DOING THAT TO A WOMAN WITH A BABY!!!

It would have been the common courtesy of him saying it NICELY !! But there was not an ounce of NICE in his voice ! THere I am shlepping this 18pounder in a carseat and he has this grin on his face!!! I think if I didnt have the baby with me I would have been dangerous

Just letting it get out of hand scared me with the baby right there... This guy looked like a 'Wiseguy' in every sense of the word... and when I said 'I have a baby in the car' he goes 'so what, maybe I do to, what do you know?' THERE WAS NO CAR TO BE SEEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have waited to tell the woman in his life as she pulled up, how her hero got her the spot !

I was floored !!! I AM NOT ONE to be lazy about walking, or WANT attention or priority because of being a woman or having a baby. To me it was more of a safety issue. I am very picky about where I park, what time of day it is (day/night) just to make sure I can see all around me when unpacking groceries, etc etc...

I agree with you about safety. I do the same thing. I park in certain spots during the day, certain spots at night (if i am in a huge parking lot)

when I park the car at night I will cirlce the block 100 times if it means getting a spot on the block or a block away.

This man was very rude and I am a very mean person especially when it comes to a parking spot

You should have left a dirty diaper on his car.

LOL, dirty diaper ! Too bad I wasnt sure if the car was his or not, that was there on my way out...
I thought my car was going to be keyed or something...


Well that whole story escaped my mind as I stocked up on HALF PRICE Gerber Stage 2 Jars We got enough fruit for the next 3 months

The high of a good deal, mixed with the high of telling someone off...

Anna I can so relate to your story. Because of the blood clot in my leg I cannot walk long distances so I now have a handicap parking permit. I cannot believe the amount of people who park in them who do not have a permit. I hate confrontation so I usually don't say anything, I just get really, really mad. Well last week that changed.

I live in a town that has only one grocery store so it is always busy. Parking anywhere near the store is difficult at best, but with the permit I get to park in the front so I don't have to walk so far. I was having a bad day, with my foot so swollen that I could barely get my shoe on and walking was really difficult. I probably shouldn't have gone out, but I had promised DH his favorite dinner and he has been so good to me during my illness that I didn't want to disappoint him. I got to the store and of course there were no close spaces handicap or otherwise. So I circled the lot a few times and noticed that one of the cars parked in the handicap spot closest to the store did not have a permit or a handicap plate. . As I circled again I watched a woman probably around mid 50's, come out of the store and walk to the car. I was just so annoyed that I pulled behind her car, put my window down and asked her if she had a handicap permit ( I thought it might have been on her dash or that she forgot to put it up). She gave me this snotty look and said 'No...not that it's any of your business'. Well that was all it took for me to freak. I started yelling at her that it certainly was my business because I do have a permit and I need the space and she should be grateful she doesn't need it and she should hope she never needs it and that I hoped if she ever did someone would park in the space who didn't have a permit so she would know how it feels!

Of course then I blew it because I started to cry. I was just so frustrated and angry that I went home and never did go into the store. Poor DH..no favorite dinner for him that night.

I guess that common courtesy and decency have gone out the window. It's a shame.

You know those younger a$$h*#es that you encounter in life? Well that's what they turn into. People who are jerks when they are old were mostly likely that way their whole lives. Sorry you have to deal with that today. I really dislike people sometimes.
