Doubting my makeup choice...and I'm practically a month away!

Original post by GettinHutched

Ugh I dunno. i thought I loved my makeup trial at first...and now I'm not so sure. I liked that it was natural. But FH mentioned the smell- and I'm thinking it's the custom blend foundation.

now I look back at the pic from makeup trial as well as epics taken that day...and I don't feel I 'sparkle' enough if ya know what I mean....

I liked going to a salon because it's way cheaper...I just can't justify spending $150 on my makeup when I'm definitely paying way less for hair (my hairdresser since I was a kid who works from home).

Anyone know of any salons in Nassau/Western Suffolk that I can go to? or should I just mention my concerns to my makeup artist? Should I bring my own foundation and get her to change the colors?

Thanks!

Here's a pic from after the trial and then epics...

What would you change?

Since I've worked as a makeup artist for 7 years.. my advice to you is to tell the mu artist what you want differently.. sometimes when you tell them 'natural' their vision is different than yours. Pull pics out from a magazine. I think you eyes could pop a little more..but that has to do w/ the colors used..
What foundation did she use that smelled?
Good Luck!

I can't remember the name but it was custom blend...

I think you look beautiful! And once everything is all put together, the make-up, the hair and the dress, it will feel better. If you want a little more pop, tell your make-up artist, I'm sure they'll work with you...

YAY Tara! So excited that the other salon is available! Definitely bring a picture of yourself from your epics day and tell her what you'd like different - also definitely mention the smell of the other foundation!

I really wasn't loving my first MU trial and so I went for a second and brought a Sephora catalog with pictures of what I wanted, it came out sooooo much better...

I think if you are unsure, you should get another trial and tell them you want to take it up a notch...you should check out the place around the corner and see if they're available...you never know!

I booked my makeup two weeks before my wedding - I would recommend going to Majestic Salon - on Merrick Road in Seaford - and going to either June or Christine!

FM me for more details!

(PS - they did an EXCELLENT job and I was getting compliments all night and after my pictures were shown to people)

I think you look so beautiful and natural! I see where you say you don't see that twinkle. Maybe you'd like a different eye shadow? A little mroe eyeliner? You really look stunning though! Those are the only things I can think of to mb help get you the twinkle your looking for.
