Has anyone ever seen a dove release? I was thinking of having one after my ceremony. I wonder if people would be surprised by seeing one. I don't think they are too common. Is anyone ekse doing this? What's your ideas on this?

Re: Dove release...
I could totally be wrong on this but I think I heard that some places are banning the dove releases ( I have no idea where I heard that from). Aside from that...I think the doves are beautiful. I would be worried about the dove pooping on my dress though (w/ my luck they would :)

Re: Dove release...
I saw it done a few years ago at a wedding. I think it is more common now, but still a really nice idea

Re: Dove release...
I saw one done at the wedding of the year.
at the website you can see pics of it. It was really pretty! Everyone gathered outside of the chapel to see it, it was really nice.
There's an article about it somewhere in the planning sections of LIW. It has to be at least 2 hours before sunset, so the doves can find their way home

Re: Dove release...
I never even thought of them pooping on me. I guess it is possible. To everyone who saw a dove release do you think it's worth getting? Was it a nice added touch to the ceremony? Be honest. Thanks

Re: Dove release...
I don't know.. I just didn't like it...I should have clarified I really don't like birds and the thought of personally releasing them...I wouldn't feel comfortable. But its a nice sentiment...if you want it go for it

Not offended at all. You were being honest and I thank you for that. That's what I am looking for honesty.

I didn't think it would be a big deal, but with the doives releasing, and they chimed the church bells at the same time, it was a really beautfu;l sentimental moment!

Re: Dove release...
My friend just got married this sat. and she had it - it was nice - there were 2 doves in a heart shaped cage and then there was two wicker baskets - they opened the 1st one and 2 doves came out then they opened the 2nd one and either 4 or 6 more came out - def. a nice touch and then women also said a little poem that went with it -
