I am starting to go around and look at places in the next few weeks. Does anyone know how much you need to put down, when you find your place? is it a percentage? or just a couple of hundred? thousand?

It depends on the place. Mine wanted 500$ deposit to hold the date.

Same here. They set up a payment plan with a certain amount due each month until half of the balance was reached, then the rest is due 2 weeks before the wedding.

It depends on the hall. Our first and second payments were $4,300/each... our next payment (due in March 2012) is $12,900 and then the remaining is due when we give our final headcount.

Are payment would of been 1,500 every other month. My parents are paying for our hall and didn't want to do that so they changed it to 3,000 every 4 months.
