I am starting to go around and look at places in the next few weeks. Does anyone know how much you need to put down, when you find your place? is it a percentage? or just a couple of hundred? thousand?

Re: down payment on a hall
I think it depends on the place. Mine required 10% of the minimum

i think it depends on the place. mine required 2500 which is fairly high from what I have heard others pay but they let me pay it in two installments.

Re: down payment on a hall
A bunch of places I looked at were only asking for $500 deposit to hold the date & then you would be set up on a payment plan after that.

Re: down payment on a hall
It really depends on the hall. We had to put $1,000 and then we had another $2,000 due in 2 months and another $2,000 due in 5 months

Re: down payment on a hall
My place allowed us to hold the date for a week no $$ then once we booked it was 1000 down and then 2500 on the year anniversary to the wedding.

Same here. They set up a payment plan with a certain amount due each month until half of the balance was reached, then the rest is due 2 weeks before the wedding.

It all depends on the hall. We put 1000 down, and then an additional 1000 everyother month up to 5000 total down...
