downpayment ques....

just curious- how much money does everyone have saved or are saving for a downpayment. fm if youd like. im not talking % im talking actual dollars.. we want to start looking for a house soon but we want to make sure we have enough money for a downpayment, closing costs and a little money afterwards..
were going to be looking for houses no more than 375,000. if you're still saving what is your goal amount?

our parents helped us with the wedding so were doing this all on our own in addition to all the bills we have already...

Right now we have 20% of a $300K house ($60K) but until we find a house we are still saving. When we have $70K I will be happy because then we can get a $350K house, thats the MOST I will pay for a house... if we can't find one then we're moving out of state

I guess me and my Fiance will have to look at that once the wedding is done. I am not sure how much we will have saved. I am guessing we will have about 20-30k saved after the wedding since we are paying for the wedding out of pocket.

I also have at least 60k in estimated equity in my 2br co-op if I sell at 200k. But then again they are telling me at the sales office the apartments are going for as much as 220k... one went for even 235k so I probably have more equity.
