downsizing bridal party

We are having such drama with members of our bridal party. How do we take some out without causing war?

i dont know but personally i believe that once you ask somebody to be in your bp you shouldn't kick them out. Unless they do something real bad and they seem to not want to be part of it. But otherwise its hard, and remember that after your wedding you will still want to remain friends with them so dont strain relationships now. Kicking people out of a bp can cause alot of problems.

Good luck

We have already asked the people. but two of them we have not heard from in 8 months and another in 4 months we have tried every outlet together. I feel like they dont want to be a part of it they just feel akward about telling us. One of the GM didnt even remember our wedding date!!

I agree...if you already asked them I think it can lead to some hurt feelings to 'downsize' unless they are causing you major grief....Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

But.....if they are really causing problems and not really trying to help you or be a part of your day you should have a serious talk with them and tell them how you feel. If it doesn't work then kick their booties out! But be aware this might ruin or cause strain on your future friendship with them.

That is a really tough call. But def the sooner the better. Just have your reasons ready because I am sure even if they are legitamate reasons the person will not be very understanding about it.

Good luck !

hmm ... did you ask them already? if they are causing drama it shouldnt be a surprise to them to be asked out. but blame it on finances

Re: downsizing bridal party

Okay.. i have had ISSUES with some of my girls...

I had three of my female cousins in the BP and one male cousins (their brother) as a GM... The two families have been fighting since November. I tried to reconcile with them.. but they never let up.... and it got really nasty.. So I kicked them out.. I haven't spoken to them since. It stinks because they are family, but in my mind I did all i can to not only keep them in it but as part of the family..

On the other hand.. I have a BM who has been really flaky for over a year. I've heard from other BMs that she hasnt contacted them about the bridal shower (this was a month ago). If I had to choose now, I wouldnt have her in it. But like ESPO said, i dont want to strain the relationship, so I keep shut

hmmmm....that's a tough situation and I would say just keep your bp how it is bc you already asked them. However, what you mentioned about the two that you haven't heard from in 8 months....that's no good. That's clearly, 'actions speak louder than words', unless there's a really really really good reason why there has been no communication with them. I would start by calling them up to see where you both stand....good luck..
