Re: drama- drama
I say just host the Rehearsal Dinner yourself. That's crazy but if she's hosting then it's her choice. I'd just tell her, listen dont worry about it.
Can't you just host a small party at a restaurant or something yourself, this way you can do it YOUR way???? I would def. do that. She sounds like a nightmare.

Dont let her host the dinner. That is nice she wants to take a vacation... but you need to know that it will be done in time and decently

I agree. DON'T let her host the party...just take it into your own hands otherwise you will be stressed out the day of the RD and you don't need that. That way you know everything is set for the RD and all she has to do is come if she wants.

Re: drama- drama
i would politely say dont worry about it everything is set for the RD and make plans yourself for that day I honestly would be a little stressed with the thought of something hosting a party the very last minute of when they return....

Re: drama- drama
I would do the reverse psychology and say something like this.... ' Enjoy your cruise, have a wonderful time. I dont want you to have to worry about coming home and having a house full of people, you'll have laundry to do and you need to prepare for the wedding. The last thing you need is to be a host. Me and your son will take care of it, not a problem. Have a great time !' Try that, so its like you were so grateful, and at the same time basically telling her thanks but no thanks!

Where do you live? Do you and your FH live together? Do you have enough room to host the RD yourselves? Thats what I would do. Itll just save you stress. Sorry that this is something u have to deal with. Id be annoyed!

I agree...def,. take over but do it diplomatically...at the end of the day you still have to deal with her the rest of your life.

Re: drama- drama
Tell her due to the time constraint you guys should do the RD in a restaurant that way just in case they are delayed it wont be too much pressure on her. Make it seem like you are doing this for her benefit and to make her life easier. Good luck. I know I would be having a heart attack now.

Re: drama- drama
If you need some options, I know of some places that can host dinners for a very cost effective price. Definitely host it yourself. Use the reverse pyschology for sure.
